The world of Photo Editing

The world of photo editing is difficult every picture tells a story and creates a visual impact with the audience.

* Readers spend less than three quarters of a second looking at a photograph
* Phot editors reject over thousands of photos to find the one that fits the frame and tells a story and creates a visual impact.
* Phot editors sometimes must turn to phot researchers, theses researchers go to great lengths searching files and libraries for that perfect image to tell the story.
* One uneccesary skill to be a great photo editor is the ability to take pictures
* There are 4 things to look for when photo editing, informational, emotional, graphically appealing, and intimate
* All readers do not have the same taste in pictures
* all editors are different and like different things so pick your editor wisely.
* Photo editors should not edit there own work, because they can get an intimate attraction to there photo. ( this is kinda like writing)
* Photographers love capturing photos in black and white but color works well in many cases as well and sometimes can create a bigger story

Breaking News: Notes on Photojournalism

Chapter one

What I found most interesting was the fact that photography can tell a story. Photography takes time, the right angle, patience, and the right light. To capture an image with feeling, that tells the exact story of what is happening in that image.

The time of day is important in Photography, every hour of everyday the light changes, shadows change, and these are key elements in capturing a good photo.

Photography is more than just a picture it can create happiness, disgrace, hurtfulness, and despair. Photography can impact and change the world.

Things that interest you are important part of Photography, takes shots that you enjoy that make you happy, that are amazing to you.

Use different places and to find your story, you can use more than one area to get your news for your story.   You must know how to get contacts and ask them the right questions for your story to make it interesting to readers. (8)

Angles are important different angles create a different photo, Try going high, low, left, or right. All these angles possess a different outcome.

It never has to be breaking news just find someone willing to tell you a story, and it could end up being interesting in itself.

Climate is Changing The World

NorthSouthEastWest: A 360 View of Climate Change

The total contents of the slideshow is obviously the climate change in a 360 degree view through the North, South, East, and West. This also creates an emotional twist, it goes beyond the problem of climate change through the world. People have the opportunity to see how it is effecting us at every corner and  in every aspect of peoples lives.

This first photo I found interesting because when you first look at it it looks beautiful and peaceful, like paradise. As you engage in the photo more closely you notice its in black and white for a reason. It is creating an emotional side that this paradise has seen better days and its climate is changing to a more dark, foggy, and rainy feel.  The black and white portion of this photo really brings to light the actual change that is happening to this part of the world.

This picture stood out to me because of the lighting, how the sun hits the top of the ice burg compliments the photo really well. It also carries the story that this part of the world is heating up and soon these ice burgs will melt away and it will be a blank canvas of our blue ocean.

This photo stood out to me the most because it has so much emotion behind it with all the people. To the left you see two me looking at the camera almost frightened by the photographer taking this picture. What first caught my eye in this picture was the dog, you see quickly the dog has not been fed and it’s starving. This creates a sense that the climate is creating a tole on the people and wild life that there is a lack of food. If you look in the back there is a mother and child and three men who seem to be quite cold. This is giving off the emotion that its cold there and there all looking at the photographer like maybe he can help us.  The fact that this photo is black white creates that emotional sadness and feel for these people and this dog that there hungry and the climate is effecting them in drastic ways.
